Adam Porter E stablished in 1998, the Berlin Biennale is one of the pre-eminent contemporary art events in the world.

Somewhat overshadowed by the concurrent and scandalous events of documenta 15 (in the much smaller German city of Kassel) the 12th Berlin Biennale presented a different curatorial approach with similar thematic intentions, within a historically complex and cosmopolitan city.
