Nur Shkembi S hireen Taweel is a Sydney based Lebanese-Australian artist who initially studied visual arts at the Tasmanian College of the Arts, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Art.

This was immediately followed in 2016 by a Graduate Diploma of Fine Art from the National Art School, Sydney, where she specialised in printmaking.

It was in the process of making prints from copper etching on the plate that Taweel first opened herself up to the possibilities of working with copper, not as means to an end but rather as an art material in itself.
