28 August 2021 Symposium on A vast emporium, AGSA To coincide with this AGSA exhibition, TAASA SA celebrated the contributions and experiences of three prominent, long-standing Adelaide collectors and conservators.
Over 35 people attended the event which took place at historic Beltana House, residence of the contemporary textile artist, Cheryl Bridgart, who also provided an overview of her practice and current exhibition. The afternoon began with David Button, internationally respected Japanese print conservator, who regaled us with tales of his successful acquisitions and those that got away, as well as his experiences operating within the Japanese art auction system.
He was followed by Mary Jose, Director of Fabric of Life, a world-renowned textiles expert and conservator, who has worked with museums, galleries and collectors since 1984 in Australia, Asia, and the UK...
