Lynne Howarth-Gladston and Paul Gladston X iao Lu (b.1962) is widely recognised as a leading figure in the development of contemporary Chinese art.

Xiao graduated from the prestigious Zhejiang Academy of Fine Art (now the China Academy of Fine Arts) in Hangzhou–where her father was president– in 1988.
