Elly Kent F rom the shade of a blue marquee, I watch the man who will play the shaman organise the offerings: he unwraps incense, places a cake of brown sugar atop a coconut shell, lights a kretek rolled cigarette and sets it carefully on a dish.
A group of musicians, dressed in black Sundanese (West Javanese) tunics and brown batik headdresses, stand to one side.
A young drummer relinquishes his instrument and squats in front of the shaman...
