Kathy Golski I think my friendship with Carole was forged at Tharwa, way back in the 70s, when we had both just arrived in Canberra.

On hands and knees, stripping and scrubbing the wooden floors of a new art gallery, we must have been chatting, and while Carole took her Gauloise breaks on the verandah we probably commiserated together about the deficiencies of life in Canberra, a shock for me but for her a whole lot worse.
