Emily Wakeling T he Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art continues its commitment to the art of Asia-Pacific, a place long considered at the sidelines of art history’s Euro-Americentrism, in the 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT9) from November 2018.

With an unprecedented number of women included in its list of artists (close to half of the some 200 contributing artists) the exhibition sharpens its focus on marginalised voices, and particularly on their responses to often-intersecting political oppression and economic pressures in the region.
