Symposium Nazar: Ways of Seeing in Islamic Cultures Tuesday 10 October 2017 Art Gallery of South Australia A joint University of Adelaide and Art Gallery of South Australia one-day symposium that aims to generate discussion on the Islamic concept of seeing.

Naar, vision' andseeing’ in Arabic, comprises a complex set of ideas pointing to the intertwined relationship between the multiple instruments of seeing – the eye, the mind, and the heart – and the objects of seeing – the seen, the unseen, and the unseeable.
