Out of the Black Lacquer Box: Ikats from Indonesia and the Philippines 9 May 2017 Judith Snodgrass effortlessly regaled a full room with an account of her journeys with architect husband Adrian to survey the local handcraft industry in Indonesia and the Philippines in the 1970s in order to identify suitable materials for outfitting luxury hotels.

Along the way, Judith collected many spectacular ikat textiles associated with sacred, life- cycle ceremonies.
