Claudia Hyles I n 1987 and 1988 I lived in Peshawar in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan, renamed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2010.

Pakhtun is the name of the majority ethnic group and khwa means heart.

This ancient name was mentioned by Herodotus in 5th century BCE and used by poets from 17th century onwards. At the time, we travelled unhindered throughout Pakistan and the beautiful Swat Valley was a favourite destination...
