Monday 5 June 2017 The Diamond Vajra thoughts on a 12th century Khmer sculpture Dr Marnie Feneley, Lecturer in Asian Studies, University of New South Wales, will examine the circulation of Esoteric Buddhism in medieval Cambodia, and the appeal of its secret rituals and magical formulas to Southeast Asia’s ruling elites, taking as a focus a stone Vishnu head in the Rijksmuseum and the Vajra decoration on its headdress.
