Carol Cains M ae Anna Pang began her career at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1972, when she was appointed Assistant Curator of Asian Art.

She became Curator of Asian Art the following year and was promoted to Senior Curator in 1984, a position she held until earlier this year. Can you tell us about your background, what led you to Australia and to your appointment at the Gallery? I was born in China and grew up in Canada.
