Compiled by Tina Burge ACT Divine worlds: Indian paintings National Gallery of Australia, Canberra 1 September ­ 11 November 2012 Divine worlds brings together paintings from the NGA’s Indian collection, including recent acquisitions.

Dating from the 16th to the 20th century, the paintings range from exquisite intimate miniatures to vast hunting scenes, monumental pilgrimage maps and brilliantly coloured devotional shrine hangings.

A number of lectures and a series of films are planned for the exhibition including an overview of the exhibition by Melanie Eastburn, curator of the exhibition and Curator, Asian Art on 11 September at 12.45pm.
