O nce upon a time, many years before TAASA was born, there was a feeling of deep sadness among some newcomers to Australia that the general population knew them only through their national dance and music, and not through their poetry, prose, painting and more intellectual pursuits.

Then we Australians of Anglo extraction discovered their food, and so-called the old days’.

This wasn’t going to be a `good news’ piece. But my analysis of the changing times led to a different conclusion...
