On what I remember as a perfect Sydney summer afternoon, a special TAASA gathering was held in a pretty room in the Art Gallery of NSW ­ Pam Gutman in a gorgeous garden party outfit I recall.

The Committee presented foundation life members with membership cards inscribed in gold.

What an auspicious start ­ golden weather, golden words and the start for me of many more TAASA and our Asian textile interest arose out of an already passionate interest in textiles from the Oriental Rug Society and the former Costume and Textile Society, ignited by the generous support of the Powerhouse Museum and the AGNSW...
