More Ink than Ocean: The art of writing in Islam Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide 7 August 2015 27 March 2016 Presents 1,000 years of Islamic calligraphy from Iran, India and Indonesia.
Among the highlights is the magnificent illuminated manuscript, Mathnavi' of Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi (1641), and the work of the famous calligrapher, Muhammad Hussein Kashmiri (d.1620), on whom the Indian emperor, Akbar the Great, bestowed the titleThe Golden Pen’.
