Blue and white kendi, Vietnam C16 (image courtesy of John Yu)
For our final event of the year, the NSW CSG committee invites you to join our expert presenters, Jackie Menzies and John Yu as they take us on a journey to learn more about the origins and the enduring popularity of blue and white ceramics. Jackie will investigate the use of cobalt on early Chinese blue and white wares. John will examine the central role of blue and white ceramics, which were produced both locally and for the export markets of Southeast Asia and Europe, highlighting the important role they played in trade exchanges.
We encourage you to come dressed in blue and white and to bring your blue and white pieces for discussion.
RSVP to Margaret White (Margaret.artmoves@gmail.com) by October 18 if you are bringing an example of blue and white ceramics
