Dragon robe, late Qing dynasty.
The Festival of Goldwork celebrates the rich beauty of metal thread embroidery and the skilled artisans who use it to such spectacular effect. The exhibition highlights over 70 embroidered pieces showcasing ceremonial, military, religious, cultural and artistic applications. It features both historic and contemporary items from Australia and overseas, including pieces from the Guild’s Collection.
Members are warmly invited to join Custodian of the Collection, Sue Gower, to view the highlights of the exhibition followed by a behind the scenes visit to the Collection room to closely examine special pieces.
