Iranzamin (Land of the Persians) is the first survey exhibition of the Powerhouse collection of Persian arts and crafts. The exhibition examines how objects inspired by traditional arts and crafts were used in Persian society, focusing on seven themes: Joy and Happiness; Purification and Cleansing; Spirituality and Devotion; Poetry and Calligraphy; Rituals and Performance; Patronage and Craftsmanship; Nature and Design.

Iranzamin encompasses a range of materials and techniques, including ceramics, glass and tiles; textiles, embroidery and rugs; arms and armour and metalwork. Special attention is paid to the influence of Persian culture on non-Iranian craftsmen and artists such as Australian painter and textile designer Florence Broadhurst.

DR PEDRAM KHOSRONEJAD, a socio-cultural and visual anthropologist of contemporary Iran, is the Curator of Persian Arts at the Powerhouse Museum, an Adjunct Professor at the Religion and Society Research Cluster in School of Social Sciences at Western Sydney University, and a Fellow at the Department of Anthropology at Harvard University.  Between 2007-2015 he held the position of Goli Rais Larizadeh Fellow of the Iran Heritage Foundation for the Anthropology of Iran in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews.
