Reena Kallat, b.1973, Woven chronicle.
The new North Building of the Art Gallery of New South Wales contains a wealth of Asian art, much of it previously unseen contemporary art. Curator Melanie Eastburn gave us an insight into the new displays in her article in the December issue of the TAASA Review. She will show us these items on a morning tour.
MELANIE EASTURN is Senior Curator, Asian Art, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, a position she has held since 2016. Melanie has been responsible for many exhibitions at the Art Gallery, including Japan supernatural 2019 and the current exhibitions Elemental and Correspondence (with Chaitanya Sambrani, Natalie Seiz, Matt Cox and Yin Cao) and Making Worlds (with Nicholas Chambers and Isobel Parker Philip). She has spoken to TAASA on numerous occasions.
