Editorial
This issue of the TAASA Review comes with a large thank you to Heleanor Feltham for her honorary services to the Review. You can read Christina’ s interview with Heleanor in this issue. Thank you Heleanor for all those phone calls, typing and composing when you might have been off at the Opera House, or communing in the gardens. Heleanor is not retiring from the Review, just withdrawing a little.
When I was asked if I would take on the position of editor of the Review for a short time I was flattered. The Review is an excellent publication which covers a broad variety of members ‘ interests which includes such areas as pottery, textiles, painting and dance; spirituality in music and the political dimensions of film; the use of the mask in theatre and the design on the scabbard of a sword.
The historical sweep of the Review spans thousand s of years and incorporates the complex story of trading relationships and movement of goods; political configurations involving dynasties, kingdoms and nation states; and religious patterns involving all the world’s major spiritual beliefs.
For all these reasons, subscribers to the Review have been fed a delightful smorgasbord of tasty articles. This issue is no exception.
My name is Dr Barbara Leigh and my particular area of interest and expertise is Southeast Asia. I am from academe, but have lived long enough outside the ivory tower to, I hope, bring you a Review which you will continue to enjoy reading.
